Join us in having this essential dialogue – sexual violence does happen against older adults and it is never too late to heal. This webinar for service providers and community leaders will explore the dynamics of sexual violence and working with older adults who have experienced sexual violence in their past or who may be currently experiencing it. This webinar will look at indicators of sexual violence, considerations when working with this population, common contexts for abuse, and protective factors. It will also explore growing and healing after the abuse and focus on how to support older adults whose lives have been affected. This webinar will be presented by Denise Hayes, who has 19 years of experience as a volunteer with the NL Sexual Assault Crisis and Prevention Centre. Denise, answers the sexual assault crisis line, provides peer support, and develops and delivers presentations for NLSACPC. She is also a survivor of sexual violence.
Please note that the information provided is a combination of wise practices from various research reports shared from the lens of the NLSACPC, presenters are not professional counsellors.
